Functional Range Release ®

What is Functional Range Release®?

FR® is recognized as being the gold standard in soft tissue techniques. It is an advanced and evidence based myofascial release technique that is movement based. FR® is effective in treating numerous neuromusculoskeletal conditions and sports-related injuries. The certified FR® practitioner can  utilize this technique when treating soft tissue adhesions, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, nerves and other connective tissues.

FR® providers are trained to use their hands to assess, diagnose and treat areas of dense, thickened and tight tissues. Following a detailed examination, the FR® certified therapist will apply a precise tension to the abnormal tissue, in combination with a particular movement. This promotes the lengthening of  soft tissue, and scar tissue breakdown.

This technique is most effective in conjunct with other modalities and specific rehabilitative exercises to ensure that the results are permanent.

FR® techniques have been shown to improve tissue flexibility, strength and muscle recruitment. This technique can effectively address neuromusculoskeletal pathologies.
