Custom Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio taping is a technique used in conjunct with manual therapy and other modalities. It can be used to protect an existing injury, restrict mobility, and prevent new injuries. Taping can be used to support the joints, muscles and/or ligaments, which are compromised as a result of an injury. Different variations of tape will be used, dependent on degree of elasticity needed for each specific injury.

A more flexible K-tape will be applied if the patient requires more mobility and some light support/postural cueing. A rigid tape will be applied when the focus is to support the joint restrict movement. Taping provides ongoing support for extended periods of time and assists in pain management between therapy sessions.
